Secondary education in Togo is divided into two cycles namely the lower secondary cycle, which runs from grades seven to 10, and the upper secondary cycle encompassing grades 11 to 13. To complete the 10th grade, Students will sit for and receive the Brevet d’Etudes du Premier Cycle du Second Degre (BEPC), and on completion of grade 13, they are awarded the Baccalaureat.

Junior  secondary education   or middle school is the first level of secondary education and lasts for 4 years.            The certificate of graduation from junior secondary or the  Brevet d’Etudes du Premier Cycle du Second Degre (BEPC). Senior secondary education or high school lasts for three years. It encompasses grades 11 to 13.

American International School of Lome (AISL)

This is a private, non-profit, preparatory day school offering an educational program to students of all nationalities from Nursery to Grade 12.  The school is located in Kegue, a suburb north of Lome, Togo. The school offers an American-style curriculum.

This is an international, coeducational and multicultural British school in Lome, Togo that offers a curriculum based on the British National Curriculum. Key Stage 3 aims to provide a transition from primary school and to prepare students for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education(IGCSE).

Key Stage 4 (years 10 and 11)- key stage 4 prepares students for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education(IGCSE). compulsory subjects offered here include Maths, English Language and French. students must also study at least one science subject from the list of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Elective subjects include Art and Design, Business Studies, Drama, Economics, English Literature, Geography, History, Information and Communication Technology, Music, Physical Education, and Spanish. students also study personal, social, health, and economic education(PSHE).

Key Stage 5 (years 12-13)- inKey Stage 5 students take the International Baccalaureate Diploma program at the ages of age 16 to 19. students will study 6 subjects (3 at higher level, and the remaining at standard level), from the following subject groups: Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and the Arts. students must also complete a project related to the three core elements including Theory of knowledge, The extended essay, and Creativity, activity, service which are the required components of the IBDP program meant to broaden the students’ educational experience and challenge them to apply their knowledge and skills.

This is a multicultural, and bilingual school, an international school offering an educational program from the International Baccalaureate. The school s located on 3 campuses. The secondary school encompasses grades 6 to 12, aged about 11 to 18 years.

The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) is for students aged 11 to 16 years. It is a challenging framework that encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world. Subjects offered here may include Language Acquisition, Language and Literature, Individuals and societies, Sciences, Mathematics, Arts, Physical and health education and Design, to mention but a few.

Students also take the diploma program on completion of the middle year's program. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) is for students aged 16 to 19 years. Students have to complete a project in 3 core areas namely Theory of knowledge, The extended essay (a 4 000 word paper), and Creativity, activity, service, in which students complete a project related to those three concepts. Students also take 6 subjects from subject groups including Studies in language and literature. Language acquisition, Individuals and societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and The Arts.

Extracurricular activities- the School aims to create a conducive environment where students can develop their talents and skills in a safe, and encouraging environment and offer a variety of sports and other activities.
