UCLan was established in 1828. It was first known as Harris Arts College and later changed to Preston Polytechnic, it then changed to Lancaster Polytechnic and is now a university. The institution has its roots in the institution for the diffusion of useful knowledge. UCLan is ranked the 19th largest university in the UK in terms of student numbers, approximately students from over 100 countries study here, the university also collaborates with over 125 international institutions.

Erasmus

There are on-campus accommodations and accommodations closer to the university which provides housing for students. Since these dormitories are owned by the university, the cost of living here is cheaper and students are more safe and secured. The University has the Roeburn Hall, IQ Kopa, Moor Lane Halls, Whitendal Halls, Rıbble Halls, and many others.
The cost of these halls depends on the standard of accommodation, however, all halls are comfortable, secure, possess basic living amenities and are paid weekly. The cost of these halls starts from £79.45. The price includes all utility bills as well as canteen prices.

Lancashire has a very comprehensive transportation system composed of trains, trams, buses, cabs, commuter rail and other long-distance trains for inter-state transport. There are also student buses that carry students for free.
The buses also work al through the night during the semester peak period as students will be commuting from their homes to the library and back. Public transportation around the town is very cheap and very comfortable.
Student dormitories that are not on campus are usually around 5 minutes' walk to the campus, thus, reducing the cost of transportation commuting to the university. The university provides the student with a transport card which makes them pay lesser fees for transportation.
