Application Requirements for Tanzania Universities

To study in Tanzania here are certain academic requirements that need to be met for you to qualify and gain placemen at any of the universities in the country.

The following are what is required of any prospective students looking at studying in any of the Tanzanian universities.

Please note that all documents obtained from another country could be graded and converted according to the Tanzanian grading system by the relevant examination body in Tanzania.

For all first-level entries:

  • Completed A-Level studies
  • Two principal passes with a total of 4.0 points from two subjects
  • Two Subjects defining the admission into the respective programme (where A = 5; B = 4; C = 3; D = 2; E = 1); S=0.5

For bachelor's level studies:

  • Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) and Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE), with a minimum of six subjects in total, of which at least two must be at Advanced Level

For master's level studies:

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Transcripts.
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Other documents showing their work experience

    Sokoine University of Agriculture

    Sokoine University of Agriculture is a public university that was founded in the year 1984. It is named after Edward Sokoine who was the second person to be prime minister in Tanzania after independence. Sokoine University of Agriculture strives in creating the best farmers in Tanzania.

    St. Augustine University Of Tanzania

    St. Augustine University of Tanzania is a private university in Mwanza, Tanzania. It was founded by the Catholic Bishops of Tanzania in 1998 as a secular, nonprofit, private institution. Before 1998, SAUT was called first Nyegezi Social Training Centre and then Nyegezi Social Training Institute.

    St. Joseph University in Tanzania

    St John's University of Tanzania is a private university in Dodoma, Tanzania. It was established in 2007 and is owned by the Anglican Church of Tanzania.

    The State University of Zanzibar Vuga Campus

    State University of Zanzibar is a public university located on Unguja Island in Zanzibar, Tanzania. The university was established by an act of House of Representatives of Zanzibar in 1999 and became operational in 2002
