Application Requirements in Sweden

It should be noted that different universities have different requirements depending on the preferred program of study. There are still some general essentials that have been determined to be very important towards securing admission in Sweden.
Most programs in Sweden are taught in English, and as such applicants are expected to have ample knowledge of the use of the language. This is usually documented via language assessment tests or exams. Some of these exams include TOEFL, IELTS, C1 Advanced, Pearson PTE.
Differents assessments and different scores are required based on the institution and the department. Courses that are taught in the Swedish language also require the applicant to have written proof or certificate of their proficiency in the language.
Undergraduate/ Bachelor requirements:
Secondary School Education Certificate – similar to the Norwegian high school diploma. This is a foundation essential that is regulated by the Swedish Agency for Quality Assurance.
There is an additional mathematics requirement that says students must have completed the equivalent of Swedish mathematics 1a, 1b, 1c that amounts to at least ten years of mathematics study in their curriculum.
Many schools have additional requirements, therefore students who come under RocApply will be provided with this information, alongside the application procedure.
Graduate / Post Graduate Requirements
- Degree certificate from Bachelor program
- Masters certificate for Ph.D. applicants
- Test of English
Further entrance requirements are determined by the school and some are specific to the applicants country of origin.
