Student Life at Saint Petersburg State University
Outside of their academics, students can enjoy an active social life on campus with many events and social gatherings organized by the university all year long. Regardless of whatever social interests that students may have, SPbU caters to a wide variety of special interests.

The university provides housing for its students across its different campus sites in the city of St. Petersburg, presently there are 21 dormitories and residence halls operated by the university. Twelve of these halls are at the Petrodvortsovy District, eight of them are at the Vasileostrovsky District and one in the Nevsky District of St. Petersburg.
There are more than 13,000 spots in the university’s dormitories for both local and international students, the dormitories come well furnished with necessary amenities to make student life easier. Each dormitory has a cafe, a canteen, a grocery store and a gymnasium and fitness center. The rooms also have a refrigerator, a kitchen top and a bathroom for convenience, likewise, there is 24/hours internet connectivity for its residents.
Foreign students who would like to stay on campus for their first year must indicate so early enough as the spots are given on a first come first serve basis. And also so that they may be given a permit of allocation by the university.
