The night scene is one of wonder and excitement in Portugal, major cities like Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra, and Braga have some of the most vibrant nightlife in the country. The night begins from the early hours of the evening where locals gather around the city square to soak up the sunset.

The spot has a really cool vibe, where different individuals hang out and listen to live music and have a couple of drinks and enjoy the sunset in the company of friends and other locals.

As the night progresses, make your way to one of the popular squares in the city center, for example, there is Praça de Figueira in Lisbon that houses a seasonal market where there are barrels of sangria and cured meat for days.

Many other food lovers will find that there is a myriad of options from seafood, different continental foods, and other deliciousness. Lisbon and Porto rank very high for visitors in terms of great food and a well rounded night experience.

Lastly, the legal age for alcohol consumption in Portugal is 18 and students might need to show identification when they want to purchase alcohol. However, nightlife in Portugal is as fun as it is cheap, alcohol is very inexpensive and many social hangouts admit students for free with their ID’s.
