Cyprus International University is a modern private higher institution of learning with a keen interest in sustainability and development across different spheres, with 12 faculties and a number of schools and a graduate institute of research, there are tuition fees that students pay on an annual basis, however, students can pay on a semester basis.
Tuition at the university varies from one level to another and the program that the student chooses, the cost of education at CIU is one of the most affordable in Cyprus. All foreign students at the university are accepted on a 50% scholarship for the entirety of their programs at CIU.
The university also allows for payments in installments on a monthly structure to further assist students to complete their education without the burden of finance.
Affordable Fees and Tuition:
The annual tuition fee for international students under the general scholarship plan ranges from €2,800 to €12,500 depending on the program they choose.
CIU offers an ‘’All-Inclusive Package’’ which covers tuition fees, accommodation, transportation, health insurance, and canteen meals for about € 4500 to € 9000 per year, depending on the type of accommodation chosen.
The "all-inclusive packages" are very popular among students since they cover almost everything a student needs for the entire year.
Scholarship and Tuition Discounts:
CIU in its efforts to continue to promote the university as an international hub of learning offers all international students a 50% tuition scholarship on their respective programs for the entire duration of their course.
Furthermore, as an incentive to aim higher and push boundaries in all academic spaces, the university also provides most students with 50%, 75%, and 100% discounts on tuition payments periodically.
Merit Scholarships
Students enrolled in bachelor programs at the university and have completed at least two semesters and maintain a CGPA of 3.0 are granted an academic scholarship for the remainder of their programs on the condition that they maintain their high grades. Consecutively the scholarship is either full-ride or partial at the discretion of the department.
Loyalty Accommodation Program
The university also has a loyalty program for students who opt to live on-campus for the total period of their programs or at least for more than a year. This program provides discounts on dormitory payments and accommodation prices as the academic year progresses. For example, students receive a 15% discount on housing at the university after their second year, it increases by 20% up to 30% up to their fifth year.

Accommodation in Cyprus International University costs between 160 Euro and 280 Euro per month on-campus. However, students can find cheaper accommodation off-campus.
The university reserves priority for foreign students and new students from other countries, but we advise that students make necessary arrangements with us as early as possible Generally, integration into a new environment and country is usually easier when the student is on campus.
The school has 10 contemporary dormitories, that serves both male and female students. With room plan ranging in singles, doubles, and more depending on the student’s budget.
Studio
Fully furnished studio type dorms with multiple bedrooms. Residents have to opt for an all-inclusive yearly package including canteen meals since cooking is not allowed in these buildings.
Studio apartment-style dormitories also have student sharing option wherein students can share the apartment with other students as well.
Apartment
CIU also offers fully furnished apartment types dorms with a lounge, kitchen, bathroom, toilet, and a balcony. Cooking is allowed, therefore it is not necessary to choose the all-inclusive package.

Many of CIU’s students choose to find separate accommodations around the Lefkosa area where there are many homes that offer student housing for rent at various standards and prices, the ease of movement and free transportation makes it easy to commute to the school campus every day.
Students can rent studios, two-bedroom flats or three-bedroom flats at different parts of the city, or in close proximity to the university’s campus. Off-Campus accommodation prices and conditions vary depending on what the student is specifically looking for.
Renting an apartment means students will bear the cost of utilities such as electricity, water, internet, and cable except they come inclusive of the rent Houses in the area cost averagely €150 to €450 per month depending on the building type or its closeness to the city center, payments are accepted for 6 months or 12-months rent.
Student sharing is very common in student communities where students contribute their resources and rent an apartment, splitting all the bills from the rent to the utilities.
Hotels & Hostels
When a student's family or friends visit from another country, North Cyprus offers a diversified number of hotels and hostels, taking into consideration that the economy of the country is driven by tourism.
Cyprus International University has an impressive indoor sports arena. It includes a pool, basketball & tennis court and more. The arena is one of the most popular facilities available on campus.
It is open until the late hours of the night, giving students a chance to wind down after a long day in class. There are also a number of outdoor football fields, tennis and basketball courts, a running track, and more for students to enjoy.
There are possibilities to join teams or simply form clubs and compete against other clubs or other universities around North Cyprus, CIU sports teams have successfully represented the university in a number of sports competitions both locally and internationally, with nearly 100 trophies won.
Cyprus International University campus canteen offers different meals 3 times a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The dishes include but are not limited to, meat, rice, pasta, potatoes, and vegetarian meals.
There are other restaurants and cafes on campus where students can find other varieties of dishes and beverages. Every faculty has an indoor shop and sit-out area where students can find snacks and coffee in between their lectures.
Students are offered different payment options for canteen meals provided by the university, including a yearly fee for all meals or a pay-per-meal basis.
Within the university campus, there are multiple restaurants as well as a large LEMAR supermarket filled with grocery items and many other kitchen and home essentials.
Cyprus International University students and staff members can use the buses for free to travel around the city.
The shuttle service travels through various stops en route to the city center and back to the university campus.
The University ring bus service follows three different routes between Nicosia and the CIU campus from 7:00 am to 00:15 am.
CIU Transportation Unit also collects new students from the airport or maritime ports and transport them directly to the CIU campus for free.
The oldest and yet biggest city in North Cyprus, its home to about 100 000 people of which a substantial percentage of them are students both local and international. Lefkosa is culturally rich and full of life. It hosts a number of art and music festivals on a regular basis.
Sports arenas or facilities are easily accessible and it's frequent that students get together and play team sports. The city also has the country´s biggest flea market where people can buy traditional food, clothes, accessories, art, and more at very affordable prices. The market is situated on the border between North and South Cyprus.
The city is pretty much resourceful with money exchange shops, designer shops, banks, hospitals, MoneyGram, western union, travel agents and more. The are plenty of traditional Turkish restaurants in the city as well as Kebab places which usually charge around 2 euros for a Durum or Kebab.
Nevertheless, you can also find high-class restaurants which are usually very busy during the summer. The city also boasts of impressive cinemas of which one of them is newly built with 3D capabilities.
The cinemas usually charge less for students provided they bring their student cards. From the city of Lefkosia, you can travel to anywhere around Cyprus since the transport network revolves around the city.
In terms of touristic activities, there are a number of ancient buildings which commands a respectable amount of history and interest. The city has multiple hotels, hostels and betting houses, casinos where tourists usually spend a substantial amount of their time.
