About Abdou Moumouni University:

Created in 1971, the Higher Education Center of Niamey became University of Niamey in1973 and took the name of Abdou-Moumouni University in 1992. The current name of theuniversity is a tribute to Abdou Moumouni, professor of physics and rector of the institutionfrom 1979 to 1983. UAM is composed of six faculties: Faculty of Science and Technology(FAST), Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences (FLSH), Faculty of Agronomy (FA), Faculty ofEconomics and Management (FSEG), Faculty of Law and Political Sciences (FSJP) andFaculty of Health Sciences (FSS). Three academic institutes of technology, namely: (IRSH),the Institute for Social Science Research (IRSH), the Institute for Research in MathematicalEducation (IREM), the Institute of Radioisotopes (IRI) and the schools of engineering andadministration (Gaillard, 1989)
