There are plenty of accommodation options for foreigners in new Caledonia, from hotels to lodges, apartments, guesthouses, BnBs, and studios, to mention but a few. Let’s look at some of these options in detail.
Apartments
One bedroomed Apartment in the City Centre in the new Caledonia costs about CPF 108 333.33, and a one bedroomed Apartment Outside of the city center costs about CPF 82 500.00. some of the apartments you can find in New Caledonia include Mareinol Pacific, Apartment Petit loup, Eden Apartel, Lle Pacific Kone, Karenga Appartel, Hilton Noumea La Promenade Residences, Casa Del Sole Apartments, and Residence Plein Sud, to mention but a few.
Guesthouses
Several guesthouses offer accommodation in New Caledonia, for example, Pe Une Guest House located in Mare. Most guesthouses are made up of thatched accommodation and bungalows. Pe Une has simple accommodation with outdoor bathrooms and gives the best traditional experience to foreigners. Besides the guest rooms, it also offers campsites costing CPF3990 and CPF 1575 respectively.
Lodges
There are also several lodges in New Caledonia. These give spectacular views of the mountains, the sea, and the surrounding landscape. Guests can enjoy unique local cuisine, free Wi-Fi, a private hot tub, massages, and other activities.
Student Residence
The University of New Caledonia offers accommodation at its two residences in New Caledonia. The university provides residential facilities for both male and females students.
The residence is allocated to students from families with limited resources, foreign students, and any students who are eligible to apply for accommodation.
Some of the residence halls include the Residence 500, which is the largest university residence hall with 540 beds in studios or the three-bedroomed apartments, and the Seaside residence which has 108 individual rooms, toilets, a collective or shared kitchen, and a common room. Students can prepare their meals in the kitchen.
