There are many airports in Myanmar serving regional and local destunations. Ther are 3 main airports serving international destinations.
Mandalay International Airport
This is one of only three international airports in Myanmar which was completed in 1999. The airport connects 11 domestic and seven international destinations. Its runway is the longest runway in use in Southeast Asia and has the capacity to handle up to 3 million passengers a year.
It is the hub of Golden Myanmar Airlines. As of 2018, the airport had facilities such as 36 check-in desks, 8 gates, 6 air-bridges, 3 baggage claim belts, 11 short-term parking spaces, 6 long-term parking spaces, Post office and bank, Bureau de Change, Restaurants and VIP lounges, Duty-free facilities, Newsagent/tobacconist, Travel agency, tourist helpdesk and car rental. It serves a number of local and domestic flights.
Yangon International Airport
It is the primary and busiest international airport in Myanmar, located in Mingaladon, 15 kilometres north of central Yangon. One of the airport’s notable features include Separate floors for arriving and departing passengers to lessen congestion.
Automated baggage handling system with an integrated check-in system, Four air bridges, capable of handling four Boeing 747s, Special lounges for use by government officials and business people, and A two-story parking garage with spaces for 340 vehicles.
It is a hub for a number of local airlines including Air KBZ, Air Mandalay, Asian Wings Airways, Golden Myanmar Airlines, Myanmar National Airlines, Myanmar Airways International and Yangon Airways.
Nay Pyi Taw International Airport
It is an international airport located 16 kilometers southeast of Nay Pyi Taw, the capital city of Myanmar. Before the foundation of Nay Pyi Taw, it was formerly referred to as the airport of the nearby town of Lewe. The airport officially opened on 19 December 2011 and is able to handle 3.5 million passengers annually.
Heho Airport
It is an airport serving Heho in Kalaw Township, Taunggyi District. It is the main airport serving Inle Lake and Taunggyi which are top tourist destinations of Myanmar. The airport has one runway designated with an asphalt surface measuring 2,591 m × 30 m.
The original airport had a runway length of 1,676 m and was recently expanded to accommodate jet aircraft. It serves airline such as Air KBZ Mandalay, Asian Wings Airways, Mann Yatanarpon Airlines, Myanmar National Airlines, and Yangon Airways
