Accommodation

Monthly rent for an 85 m2 furnished accommodation in expensive area costs MMK 1 870 320, and monthly rent for an 85 m2 furnished accommodation in normal area costs MMK 958 240. Apartments in Myanmar will have a bed, couch, television, TV, wardrobe and washing machine, to name but a few.

Transport

Larger towns in Myanmar offer a variety of transport options including city buses, motorcycle taxis, bicycle rickshaws or trishaws, horse carts (myint hlei), ox carts, taxis (taxi), or three-wheelers.

Rental Cars- there are several car hire options available in Myanmar including Avis, Apex car rental, and sonic star, to name but a few.

Buses- VIP buses are probably the most comfortable mode of long-distance transport for traveling through Myanmar. They are air-conditioned, with reclining seats, a place to charge your phone, and the price includes a pillow, blanket, snack, and water bottle. Public buses are great for exploring, and are affordable. These usualy cost K200.

Trains- are a great way to get around and they often go through many rural areas to offer a super scenic ride.

Scooters/Motorbikes-The best way to explore the countryside is by motorbike. These offer a more exciting ride and can cost between K500 and K1500.

Taxis- Taxis are reasonably cheap in Myanmar especially metered taxis. Get a metred taxi to avoid being scammed. Taxis can cost between K500 and K1500 as well for a 1.25 mile distance.

Bills and Utilities- The prices of Utilities have risen in recent years. Utility prices in Myanmar are as follows: Basic utilities (Water, heating, garbage and electricity) costs K 128 392, Cable/DSL internet connection (unlimited data and speed of 60Mbps) costs K 24 375, and Local one-minute prepaid calls costs K 30.
