Student Life in Mozambique

Find Programs
(Bachelor's, Master's & PhD)

It is a rather daunting task to transition well in a whole new place with new people, new activities, and a new setting. The years at University fly by very fast and it is of utmost importance to make use of them efficiently.

Mozambique is a place full of fun and new things to do and international students can take advantage of such.

On-campus life can be pretty slow and hence it is important to find things to do, especially during weekends or less busy times. Let's take a brief look at activities that students can embark on:

Student clubs and societies- Students can find a social club that they can fit into and make a difference. It is usually in these clubs that students find a hidden skill that they never knew they had.

Charity work-some would rather embark on charity work and make a difference in the lives of others in the community.

Sport-this is one of the best activities that students can embark on while in their studies. The best way to enjoy life at University is to join a sporting team and travel and have fun.

Exchange programs-Most international students salivate at the opportunity to embark on cultural exchange programs both locally in their host country or to do short stints outside the country. The relationship and history shared by Mozambique and Portugal facilitate for students to travel on exchange programs.

Students studying for a Masters in Conservation Biology Program attached at the Gorongosa National Park had this to say about their stint at the park:

"Living in Gorongos National park is the experience of a lifetime"-Victor Americo

"Gorongosa is a family and school at the same time! İ am very proud to be part of this family and learning more about the essence of conservation"-Marcio Thomas

"One thing that makes school more fun here is the friendships created. Strangers quickly become friends and family"-Amermalita Matos
