Mali Visa Requirements for international students

All foreign nationals are required to have a visa when entering Mali. Potential visitors to Mali are advised to check regularly with the embassy or online to know about the requirements.

There are various costs associated with obtaining a visa in Mali. Visa types include the tourist, business, and transit visa. Costs are:

US$80 for a single entry visa of about three months,

US$110 for a multiple entry visa of 3 months

US$200 for a multiple entry visa of 6 months

US$370 for a multiple entry visa of one year.

Mali student visa

To be eligible for or to apply for a Mali Visa the following documents must be availed by the applicant.

  • A valid passport with at least two blank pages, valid for about 6 months.

  • Passport photos

  • A visa application letter

  • Proof of accommodation for your stay in Mali.

  • Copy of bank statements to prove the ability to fund oneself.

  • yellow fever vaccination

  • Copies of travel itinerary

Visas are not available upon arrival in Mali and hence one must obtain a visa in advance before traveling to avoid any unnecessary delays and excessive fees. Visitors to Mali must obtain a visa from any one of the Mali diplomatic missions.

Countries exempt from requiring a visa to travel to Mali include Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Guinea, cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Benin, Senegal, Togo, Algeria, Andorra, Liberia, Macau, Morocco, Niger, Cameroon, Nigeria, Cape Verde, Chad, Tunisia, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Indonesia, and the United Arab emirates.

Note that your Visa application may be accepted or denied by the relevant authorities and that an e-Visa does not guarantee entry but you will need to obtain the visa upon arrival.
