Secondary education consists of two levels, junior or lower secondary education and upper secondary or high school. Lower secondary in Mali is part of basic education and at the end of which students are awarded the Diplôme d’etudes fondamentales (DEF).

Secondary school can also be in two streams, the technical and the general stream. General and technical secondary education is provided in high schools and aims at enabling the students to acquire theoretical and practical general and technical knowledge.

General secondary education admits holders of the Basic Education Certificate (DEF) and covers three years, at the end of which the students sit for the Baccalaureat examination which is equivalent to the GCE Advanced Level. Technical education institutions also admit holders of the Basic Education Certificate (DEF) who will study for at least two years and will be awarded the Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnel (CAP) or the four-year Brevet de Technicien (BT).

Facilities- students have access to classrooms, science laboratories, computer laboratories, rooms equipped with Wi-Fi, sports facilities, and open spaces, to mention but a few.

Prospective students- students will be accepted on passing the entrance tests and submission of the requirements including:

  • academic reports of the 3 previous classes according to the class in which the pupil must be admitted.
  • duly completed and signed school contract, the payment policy, and the internal regulations.
  • 2 recent identity photos of the pupil
  • A copy of the student’s birth certificate
  • a copy of the student’s passport.
  • Proof of registration fees and the 1st installment payment.
