About Multimedia University (MMU) - Cyberjaya Campus

Multimedia University has a history of more than two decades in the education industry. It has undergone many changes but has always maintained its vision and mission, which is to achieve the highest standards in terms of providing the highest teaching and service performance to students, faculty, and students. community.

Multimedia University is the first Malaysian private university, which was established in 1997 when the Malaysian government took steps to transform the economy from one that is goods and export centric towards one that relied on digital technology and emphasized services.

MMU was founded to liberalize higher education in the country and increase the number of technically competent graduates, therefore, ushering Malaysia’s transition into the digital economy.

Since its establishment, MMU has grown in size, stature, and impact both within Malaysia and across the globe. The university boasts of 3 modern campus locations (Cyberjaya, Johor, and Melaka), a student population of over 13,000 students, and a vast alumni network of more than 56,000 graduates around the globe. MMU also is very international with more than 10% of its students coming from over 60 countries around the world.

Now, Multimedia University is widely regarded and trusted for its innovative and useful programs, with 50% fast-growing academic programs.

The university is trusted by the Malaysian government as well as numerous professional, governing, and assessment organizations across the world. Their trust is expressed in various rankings, awards, agreements, and partnerships with the university.

MMU currently holds a unique position as one of the most preferred universities across various industries in Malaysia, a testament to the fact that MMU graduates have 97% employability with 6 months of graduation.

This preference is a result of years of hard work as well as the intrinsic nature of MMU. From the get-go, the university has made it a point that they are part of the international community, it draws talent, input, and knowledge from across the globe and its deliverables are also enjoyed worldwide.

Another important aspect is that MMU seeks to future-proof its graduates for future exploits and success. By opening the doors of entrepreneurship to its citizens, a move to drive and nurture job creators, MMU seeks to help laypeople to improve their economic standing without relying on existing job creators or even on existing economic models.

This has dubbed the university as the most entrepreneurial private university in Malaysia.

Furthermore, by thinking in terms of helping various industries secure better-qualified personnel, MMU has been able to come up with cutting-edge academic programs, some of which have no parallel within the country or even the hemisphere serving as a trendsetter for technology in the Asian region.

Thanks to this nimbleness, MMU has been able to help Malaysia break into new areas of national interest which include financial engineering, data science, and content creation.

The future is filled with uncertainties, however, what is certain is that regardless of the myriad of issues that face the world, MMU will be there to help its students, graduates, as well as its community, find a solution.
