Macau has 4 main hospitals. These are sate of the art hospitals with good facilities. They provide specialist services for the general public. There are several other health installations and clinics around Macau.
Medical evacuation- Macau has medical evacuation facility in case in case of emergencies. There are a number of insurance companies which cover medical evacuation.
Health Insurance- Travelers to Macau are usually advised to have health insurance that will cover their health costs and allow them to get treatment and also for evacuation in the case of a crisis. There are many insurance companies available in Macau which provide the best cover.
There are four main hospitals in Macau that provide basic and primary health care services to the people of Macau:
Hospital Conde S. Januário – this is an acute care hospital run by the public sector in Se, Macau .The hospital is also known as 'Hill-top Hospital by the majority of locals in reference to the Guia Hill close by.
Facilities/ departments- The hospital has about 476 beds and offers 22 different services, both for inpatients and for outpatients. The various departments at the hospital include the Out-patient department, Consultations, Emergency department, Operation Block, Intensive Care Unit, Burns Unit, Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, Imagiology, and the Laboratories. It also has a helipad for emergencies.
Kiang Wu Hospital
It is a privately owned hospital located in Santo Antonio in Macau. It is a Non-profit hospital District General hospitals and is one of the 4 hospitals in Macau. It was founded in 1871 and run by the Kiang Wu Charitable Association and offered Chinese medical services. The hospital has had four different known sites.
Facilities- the hospital has over 466 beds.
Personnel- the hospital has340 doctors and over 800 nurses, most graduating from various institutions like the School of Medicine at Jinan University, Zhongshan School of Medicine, Macao Polytechnic Institute, and at Kiang Wu.
Macau University of Science and Technology Hospital
The hospital is located in the Cotai area. It opened in 2006 and is run by the Macau University of Science and Technology Foundation. It focuses on both Chinese and Western medicine.
Facilities/ departments- the hospital has over 60 beds departments at the hospital include the Chinese Medicine Department, Western Medicine Department, Sleep Disorder Management Centre, Executive Health Management Centre, International Medical Service, Specialist Center of Chinese Medicine Faculty, Clinical Laboratory Diagnostic Centre, Endoscopy Centre, Medical Imaging Diagnostic Centre, Integrated Rehabilitation Service Centre, Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Oncology Treatment Service, Preventive Medicine departments.
Macau Yinkui Hospital
Macau Yin Kui Hospital is a private hospital located at FIT Centre in Macau. The hospital provides outpatient and specialist outpatient service, with a comprehensive and advanced medical equipment and medical support team.
