Night Life In Lebanon

What would studying abroad be like without an amazing nightlife? A question that has the most obvious answer across the globe. When you step into Lebanon all your uncertainties are clarified in just one experience; the Lebanese Nightlife!

When you stay a little late in Lebanon you will experience the gleam of a new paradise arise in the streets and secluded spots that offer no less than what an international visitor would imagine best! If Arabic Nightlife is in your list of priorities, Lebanon will certainly catch all your attention.

Dubai and Tel Aviv maybe today's party capitals of the Middle East, but Beirut's reputation for nightlife fun has been solid for decades.

You will be spoiled for choice in this country, whether you’re looking for glitz rooftop temples to house music and stilettos or grit sticky-floored dive pubs with lawn furniture on the patio you will be spoilt of choice as already mentioned.

Lebanese are known for their hospitality: as a visitor, you'll easily make friends wherever you end up, and you will probably even earn an invitation to Sunday lunch with the family in the village.

It might sound unreligious. It could be. It couldn’t be. We’re not to judge. Either way, B 018 is one of Lebanon’s best-known nightlife places. Even comedian Russell Peters ranted about it for a not-so-short period. The spot may seem dingy, though it’s anything but.

The club is just one level underground. You can’t see what’s going on from street view, unless you get really close, and that’s only because the roof retracts to reveal the nighttime stars and city surroundings when the weather’s allowing.

If you ever meet a local outside of Lebanon, they’ll probably tell you nobody parties like them across the globe! Music and dance are part of the Lebanese culture when the sun goes down. Staying in the capital, you’ll be surprised how lively the nightlife is and how intense it can get.

To many, this is a source of pride as, to them, it reflects the country’s modern culture and tradition. Where to go clubbing in Lebanon!

Clubbing in the capital, Beirut, is a year-round concern, but nights really get thumping in the summer, when most of the city’s clubbing establishments relocate to the BIEL Waterfront also known as the New Corniche. A multi-acre, post-industrial, brutalist fantasy, BIEL features fantastic swathes of Tetrapods, which look like giant geometric toy jacks made of poured concrete, waiting for ‘nighters’ to pose with them for the ‘gram.

But don’t despair if you’re visiting in off-season. Karantina, a district of under-occupied storehouses, hosts galleries and dance halls including the well-established Grand Factory, Discotek and a rooftop space currently occupied by Baboon; an idea changes every summer.

What should you do if it’s closing time but you’re not ready to let the dream fade? B 018 has for decades been a safe paradise, first as an underground bunker during the Lebanese civil war, and now for those looking for another kind of experience.
