Latvia's top city Riga has an incredible array of fun activities to enjoy and exciting places to visit. When it comes to entertainment, there are many locations, bars, restaurants, pubs, and night clubs. The vast majority of them can be found in the Old Town area, but similarly, there is a relaxing environment in the newer parts of town.

The Riga nightlife gives students the best opportunity to enjoy their university years and delve into the fun and multifaceted aspects of their student life. In the winter, you can go ice-skating through the many rivers of Latvia or enjoy starry nights at a cabin in the woods with friends. All seasons in Latvia come with many exciting events that you simply cannot miss.

Furthermore, places like the cathedral, the castle, Latvia’s city center shops, and the many art museums are certainly worth visiting. Spread across the city is a noteworthy assortment of Art Nouveau designs, giving a very modern yet historic vibe.

In Latvia, bars, cafes, and restaurants are typically open from 10 AM during the day and close at 10 PM, from Sunday through to Thursday while on Fridays and Saturdays they remain open till midnight or till daybreak.

In the summer, there are many music festivals and events where students and the local population all enjoy long nights of music and fun. Classical theatres and opera centers are very active in Riga with amazing shows at least every two weeks.

Student-organized events and activities are also very common across the country fostering association, inclusion, and building friendships.
