Shopping and Groceries

There are several shopping malls, supermarkets, and markets where travelers can shop in Gabon. Some of these include:

Transport –getting around in Gabon is relatively easy as there are several transport options to use. These are quite affordable.

Rental Cars- Hiring a car in Gabon is the best way to get around. Gabon has well maintained and paved roads and hiring and driving yourself would be ideal and provides a worthwhile experience.

Buses- busses are also a reliable way to get around in Gabon, especially over long distances, though they also cover shorter distances within cities.

Rail- there are trains available in Gabon that stop at key destinations. They provide convenience to travelers. There are trains between Owendo, and Franceville, and overnight trains between Libreville and Franceville. These make stops at Ndjole, Lope, Booue, Ivindo, Lastoursvile, and Moanda.

Taxis- there are plenty of taxis serving the urban centers of Gabon. Taxi fare varies from place to place and also depends on the distance. Taxis available are mostly shared taxis, and you have to ride with other passengers. Taxi companies include Carrefour IAI and Bombouchine.

Planes- Allegiance Gabon offers domestic flights from Libreville airport to areas including Franceville, Oyem, Port Gentil, Tchibanga, and also to Sao Tome if you intend to fly out.

Water taxis- ferries and boats are available and travel on the Ogooue River to Lambarene and along the Atlantic coast. They offer daily trips between Libreville and Port-Gentil, and port Gentil to Lambarene.
