While studying abroad can be exciting, having a perfect plan for accommodation is even more exciting! RocApply has dedicated this guide to give you information on the types of accommodation you should expect once in Kazakhstan!

Of all the countries in Central Asia, Kazakhstan has the best options for staying ranging from renovated 20th-century merchant houses in Almaty to paradisiac homestays and desert yurts.

There are more options for budget travelers as well these days, with apartment rentals now legal and hostels popping up almost everywhere.

Most universities offer dormitories as options to international students. These are monitored by security personnel and under constant renovation to suit student requirements.

At the entrance to the student dormitories, there is are turnstiles to prevent strangers from entering the campus and ensure safety. Only students are allowed to enter the campus through the turnstiles. In student dormitories, individual district guards are also allocated to district police officers.

The student hostels here have all the conditions for living, studying, and relaxing. A typical residence has a living room (equipped with a modern TV, upholstered furniture), a spiritual room, a kitchen, a computer room (for Internet access), and a library.

The buildings are equipped with a Wi-Fi zone, also, the hostel may have drawing, sewing, art, computer literacy, and foreign languages. Some do have a gym for students, a field for football with artificial sward, volleyball and basketball courts.

In the student dormitories, mostly dean of the faculties, assistants, and professors are responsible for students. More so, in each residence, there is a curator for working with students. Homestays in the countryside are also an excellent way to have a look at a different side of Kazakhstan.

Service quality is much higher than you can expect in the rest of Central Asia, with vegetarian meals, solar-powered shower, and clean toilets almost a given.

Apartment rental

Apartments are generally owned by real estate moguls and you are unlikely to share a space with others or even see the owner. A good alternative to more traditional accommodation options, they often offer the best value for money. Electricity blackouts are an issue in winter in Kazakhstan, though not in the capital, the capital thus far. Ask in advance if this is likely to happen in your apartment block. Hot water is turned off is another common feature of life in Kazakhstan.

Hostels

Hostels are slowly making inroads in Kazakhstan. Outside of the capital, it still all has to start, and budgeteers need to take into account spending a bit more for a hotel, or camp! In the end, it depends on your pocket. All we do is get you linked to the accommodation that won't break the bank for you!!
