Tafila is a city located in the southern region of Jordan about 183 km to Amman. It has a population of 27,559 inhabitants indolged in the industrialized agriculture. The city is built on the famous Al-Ais- Hills which gives a fabulous view to the city. Tafila is blessed with natural emulments and counts over 360 springs such as the reservoir of Dana and the springs at Afra and Burbeita. In addition, the city is rich of sources of phosphate and cement which are included in the country's main sources of income. The development of the city contributes immensely to the creation of the Tafila Technical University which is and still the only university in the area.
