Nightlife in Japan

Japan’s big cities are some of the world-leading destinations when it comes to nightlife and entertainment globally. The roaring lights and the endless amount of people bustling through the busy streets engaging in one fun activity or the other makes Japan one of the best places to actually enjoy yourself.

Nightlife in Tokyo

We absolutely cannot talk about the nightlife in Tokyo without mentioning the ‘Shinjuku’ area. Shinjuku is the main hub of Tokyo’s first-class nightlife and entertainment.

Downtown Shinjuku is a large area located in the western part of Tokyo and one of the many things it is known for is having a vibrant and unique nightlife, attracting a large number of locals and tourists. Also, the   Kabukichō area is now Japan’s premiere entertainment and red-light district.

Asides from Kabukichō and other similar larger sized streets, if you are looking for a cozier and more intimate atmosphere then we suggest checking the smaller alleyways that come alive in the nighttime like Omoide Yokochō and Golden Guy.

These areas are like tiny mazes with hundreds of the nicest and most unique restaurants and bars you can find anywhere on the globe.

All in all, every aspect of the nightlife in Tokyo comes at a bit of a price but has character and all the makings of an experience that you will forever cherish.

Nightlife in Osaka

Considered to be the nightlife capital of Japan, Osaka is a beautiful city that keeps on giving. The city is the second-largest city in the country and is undeniably grittier than its mother city   Tokyo.

The residents of Osaka are known for their laid-back disposition and being outspoken, they also have a reputation for being generally friendlier. It is no wonder the nightlife here is exceptionally intriguing.

Start the night out enjoying the brilliant display of street foods from different vendors across the ‘nation’s kitchen’ as the city is fondly called.

In Japan, it is very common to see people out drinking in parks and open spaces so and there’s nowhere in better in Osaka to do that other than in the dynamic neighborhood of ‘Amerikamura’ which literally translates to ‘America Town’. This area is also one of the fashionable centers for Japanese youth culture, where many students in the rea just come to chill and hangout.
