The Overview

This guide has been set to give you all the necessary information relating to the cost of living in the Holy See while explaining in detail the prices of basic commodities here. The total cost of living in the Holy See for one person with average consumption for one month will be USD 1150, no rent price included. You will need to consult with your friends on-campus to widen your appreciation of daily expenses which may be overlooked on this guide to avoid any inconveniences relating to budgeting and planning for your successive semesters!

Restaurants

Unquestionably, everyone who visited Holy See will say that this is a country of thousands of spices, tea varieties, and fruits. Vatican cuisine is full of meat, salads, and potatoes. Despite low prices, the meals are tantalizing, delicious, and well cooked. You can get a decent mean for USD 10.00.

Transport

Usually, there is no need to hike because of its size but a taxi can be hired at reasonably low rates. However, most institutions have transport for students. You can pay once per semester to access the university cans and buses!

Rent per month

A one-bedroom apartment in the center of big cities here will cost about USD 300. At the same time, similar accommodation far from the downtown will be only USD 250 and you can save a little if you don’t need to spend much on transportation.

Utilities

Being that the living conditions are so high, the utility prices are extremely high here. Actually, they are equally high as in some other countries where the minimum monthly wage is above USD 400. The Internet is too expensive and inaccessible to many people in the country.

Clothing and shoes

If you are spending much money on shopping for clothes, then Holy See would cut your expenses in half, because clothing item prices are extremely low in other more developed countries. For people in the country, they are high and only take a few of the monthly budget is spent on them.
