Application requirements at universities vary sometimes from institution to institution. However, they are becoming uniform across universities, except for university-specific requirements. Let’s take a brief look at some of the general requirements in Guinea Bissau.
Academic documents- high school certificates or any previous qualification attained, for masters and doctoral students.
Application letter.
Contact details- personal and current contact details of the prospective student.
Passport photographs- not older than 6 months
Application fee- the student has to pay the required application fees or show proof of scholarship.
Health and medical Insurance- the prospective students must have working medical insurance in case they are not well in a foreign land.
Student visa
Declaration of financial support or statements- one has to prove that their stay and education is funded, be it by scholarship or personal funds.
A passport copy- The passport has to be valid for at least 6 more months.
Motivational letter/ personal portfolio- This is a self-written letter by the prospective students specifying the reasons for applying, why they deserve to be enrolled at the institution and how they will add value to the institution among other things.
Email address in case the institution needs to send a response or any information.
Student visa- for entry into the country and to be allowed to study in the country.
Recommendation Letters for Master’s and Ph.D. students. - Masters and Ph.D. students must be able to provide some recommendations from references in the related study who have gone through their thesis or research.
Research proposal for students pursuing Master’s and Ph.D. degrees.
Proof of general English proficiency – students must satisfy the general English requirements of the institution.
Proof of working experience- Master and Ph.D. students must have traceable working experience in the related field.
