There are several accommodation options in Guam, ranging from luxury hotels to lodges, apartments, student residences, and studios to mention but a few.
Hotels
There are many 5-star hotels in Guam offering luxurious accommodation for tourists. Hotels are however more costly than any other accommodation options. Guest can find accommodation at the Guam Reef Hotel, Garden Villa Hotel, Dusit Thani Guam Resort, and the Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort, to mention but a few.
Apartments
There are many apartment buildings in Guam including island Realty Guam, Hillside apartments, Latte Apartments, Pacific Villa, Harmon Breeze Apartments, Rossie Apartments, Ladera Tower, and Perez Ipao Apartments, to mention but a few. Apartments in Guam come furnished with basics including beds, wardrobe, couch, a flatscreen TV, and a kitchenette.
Student Residence/ dormitories
Students have the option of staying at the student dormitories. The residence hotels at the University of Guam are co-ed and consist of three 2 story buildings, namely Dorm 1, Iya’hami Hall, and Gumata Hall at the campus grounds. Each building has 2 wings that separate the male students from the females.
There are 115 dorm rooms including 3 guest houses, which accommodate about 207 students. The shared common facilities include kitchens, bathrooms on each floor, convenient laundry facilities, study rooms, TV lounges, a computer lab, and parking lots with CCTV.
Dorm 1- the dorm has 12 female and 11c male rooms. These are an alcohol-free zone and contain built-in beds, a desk, cabinet, drawers, shelve, a chair, and a balcony. In this dorm, you can also find the Campus Security Office, a convenience store, study hall, and laundry room.
Iya’hami Hall
This is a 2 story building with 19 female and 23 male rooms in each wing. It also has 2 air-conditioned studios with a bathroom on the second floor. Each room is equipped with a bed, mattress, drawers, desk, a closet, chair, and balcony.
The hall has 2 common kitchens and dining rooms on each floor, 2 bathrooms on each floor, a TV lounge on the 1st floor, and a study hall on the 2nd floor. The Residence Hall Office, Directors Office, and the EEO Office are also located here.
Gumata Hall
This is a 2 story building with about 24 female and 24 male rooms on each wing. It houses students in air-conditioned single and double rooms, both very spacious. Each room has a bunk bed, mattress, wardrobe closet, a desk, and a chair. The dorm has 2 kitchen or dining rooms with stoves and microwaves. There is a shared bathroom on each floor, a laundry facility on the first floor, a TV Lounge, a study lounge, and a computer lab also on the 1st floor. The cafeteria is located on the 2nd floor.
Global Dorm Maite
Which is located in Mongmong-Toto-Maite. It has beds, kitchen facilities, a toilet, common rooms and a play area for the students.
Home rental
You can rent from people for as little as $20 per night. Guests have access to private rooms, beds, a kitchen, and a bathroom.
Homestays
Guamese homestays offer host family accommodation, ideal for tourists, students, interns, or those who intend to spend weekends. Homestays provide a home away from home experience and are well organized and regulated, so safety and standards of comfort and hygiene are typically high. Staying with a host family gives you an insight into the daily life of local families.
