There are a lot of fast-food restaurants in the country and can be easily located almost everywhere. The approximate prices of food at any of them go from 2 to 7 GEL.

If you like to prepare your own meal at home then the best and cheapest way is to go to the grocery store, supermarket or any of the local markets in the city center. Some of the market prices for food items (approximately) include;

There are three big supermarket chains in Georgia as a whole and they are; Spar, with over a hundred stores around the nation and Carrefour, a worldwide chain. The third chain, Ori nabiji is a Georgian brand and is situated in Tbilisi and has a few smaller stores dispersed in the city.

Local market towns are very common in Georgia, they have all sorts of shopping items from food to jewelry and even clothing. One such market is Vake, where you can go to find clothing items from Georgian local designers.

  • Tip: Visit Vake for all your winter jackets and clothes, they are very cheap and of good quality

Another popular market destination in Kutaisi is the Farmers market where you can find tons of fresh fruits and food produce, cheese, local pastry, and even keepsakes. These items are fresh from the farm and displayed quite tastefully. Students who like to stock up on food for the month can definitely shop in this market as they are cheap and very economical.

In Batumi, students can head over to the Batumi Bazaar market where local farmers from neighboring towns and communities all come to sell their produce and products.This market is as charming as it is cost-friendly, the authentic nature of all the items sold there continue to see tons of locals and foreigners trooping in every week.

There are items that are akin to the Georgian people but there are also foreign items sold here too like spices from Asia, cheese from Europe, and honey from the middle east.

Located in a street called Mayakovsky’ which is only just a few kilometers from the railway commute. This market is very popular and the locals will be glad to give you directions.

Big malls in Georgia are usually found in very accessible points and the majority of them have hundreds of brand stores, restaurants, cafes, fast-food chains, electronic stores, kids club, markets, home improvement stores, entertainment, and cinema.
