Accommodation

Shopping and Groceries

There are several shops where travelers can shop in cote d'Ivoire. Some of the shopping malls and individual shops include:

  • Prima centre
  • Abidjan shopping mall
  • Marche de Tongon
  • Nsia Zagalo Ndendou

Transport –getting around in Cote d'Ivoire provides a bit of a challenge but there are various transport options available to beat the challenges and get you where you need to go.

Rental Cars- there are several car hire options available in Cote d'Ivoire that are affordable and efficient. Agencies include Avis, Flash rent a car, SPY, and Hertz, to mention but a few.

Buses- thereare several bus companies providing transport, especially for long-distance travel. Most towns have one or more bus stations, and the buses have schedules, though they are sometimes late. Busses are relatively affordable and comfortable over long distances.

Minibusses- they are known as Gbakas and are mostly used for shorter distances between towns, especially in areas which busses do not cover. These are usually packed and less comfortable.

Motorcycle taxis- these are commonly used in cote d'Ivoire for short distances. Some towns do not have regular taxis and so these cycles can cover the gap. They are affordable as well.

Taxis- taxis can be used over short or long distances. They are affordable and usually charge a standard price per seat. Taxis can be booked through your accommodation for convenience or they can simply be flagged from anywhere in the towns. Taxis can be single hires or shared taxis. Or single taxis, they are more expensive and the price has to be negotiated with the driver, and shared taxis charge a flat rate per seat.
