The central African Republic is a very fragile country and students need all the assistance they can get to adjust well. The universities must provide co-curricular learning opportunities that assist students to gain and apply life skills.

This enhances students’ experience through activities that focus on student transition, wellness, learning, success, leadership, and engagement.  Below are some of the activities that help students to adjust better.

Volunteerism- students can volunteer and assist some organizations that are based in the country. They can help with health matters and advocacy matters. There are quite a several health issues in the Central African Republic communities and students can assist by volunteering there. This helps give them a sense of belonging and to be a part of something good for society.

Students Organisations – these are organizations that are formed by students who have a common passion and interests. It enables students to meet other students and pursue a similar goal that they share. These help students build relationships, promote social change, and develop their identities.

Student Spiritual Groups- Central African Republic has a rather tolerant religious environment with various religious groups in the country. Students can be a part of student religious groups where they follow common causes and goals as a group and have freedom of worship in their free time. This will give them a sense of security and belonging as they will be around those who share a common goal with. It will also assist them to adjust better.

Sports clubs- sports clubs provide probably the easiest way for international and local students to fit into society. They can compete with other teams while showing off their talents.

Social Clubs- social clubs are good for students as they promote engagement, cohesion, and unity among students. These can be in the form of sororities, fraternities, chess clubs, or debate clubs. These allow students to engage with each other and learn and teach each other
