Bhutan has two main universities, that is the Royal University of Bhutan, and the Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan.
Royal University of Bhutan
It is a decentralized university that has eight constituent colleges and one affiliated college. The Royal University of Bhutan offers programs in eight broad curriculum areas. These include teacher education, business and management, engineering and physical sciences, computing and information science, biological sciences and agriculture, health sciences, humanities, and social sciences, and Dzongkha language and literature.

Royal Thimphu College (RTC)
It is Bhutan's first private college that offers general degree programs under the auspices of the Royal University of Bhutan. It offers 7 Bachelor programs in Business, Economics, History, Humanities, Management, Mathematics, Sociology
The Royal Institute of Management (RIM)
Itis the country’s apex management training institute with the mandate to impart, promote and improve professional knowledge and skills in management and public administration in both public as well as the private sector. It offers 4 bachelors, and 1 master's program. Program categories include Administration, Finance & Banking, Law & Jurisprudence, Management
College of Natural Resources
It was established in1992 by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests to train Extension Agents. It offers 4 Bachelor and 3 Masters programs in Environmental Studies, Management, Natural Sciences
Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan
It was established in 2013 as per the University of Medical Sciences Act of Bhutan 2012.
The University has a mandate to provide quality medical and health education in the country to address the shortage of healthcare workers and to address long-term needs of training of healthcare workforce at various levels, from diplomas, bachelors to Ph.D. degrees, and provision of continued medical education and specialized short-term training.
It consists of the Faculty of Nursing and Public Health, Faculty of Traditional Medicine, Faculty of Postgraduate Medicine, Medical Education Centre for Research, Innovation, and Training
