The cost of living in Bhutan is 21.96% lower than in Zimbabwe, and 44.14% lower than in the United States without taking rent into account. Rent is, on average, 62.45% lower than in Zimbabwe.

Accommodation

A one-bedroom apartment in City Centre in Bhutan costs about BTN 7 247.89, and an Apartment (one bedroom) Outside of the city center costs BTN4 855.69. Several rental accommodations in Bhutan come fully furnished with beds, a couch, television, TV stand, dining tables and chairs, coffee table, wardrobe, and washing machine.

Transport

The prices for local transportation or rental are as follows: One Litre of gasoline costs BTN 69.23, a One-way ticket for local transport costs about BTN 25.00 and a Regular monthly pass costs about BTN 1 000.00. Some other transport options found in Bhutan include:

Urban Buses- Buses are available but usually crowded. Bhutan Post Express, Dawa Transport, Karma Transport, and Leksol Bus Services are some of the bus companies in Bhutan which offer minibus services, or use the comfortable Toyota Coasters, a better bet for longer journeys.

Taxis- taxis are found in the major tourist cities and areas and a few are metered. Metered taxis charge a flat fee and for those unmetered ones, you have to negotiate the prices. They may exaggerate prices for foreigners.

Private Car- self-drive is not possible in Bhutan and travelers have to hire a  private vehicle that will be driven by the locals. the driver will also act as your guide and show you around.
