Student Life in Slovenia

Slovenia is a brilliant place to visit and tour but its even better to study in with an amazing opportunity to learn and gain new experiences. Student life is very broad and multifaceted across the nation. When it comes to academics, lectures are delivered by top industry professionals and academic scholars who have devoted their time to imparting knowledge in the best way possible. Students learn in a variety of environments from conventional classrooms to outdoor lessons and even practical field training.

Javier Castro from Spain who is studying at the University of Ljubljana says,

“The quality of the faculty here is very impressive, the teachers and advisors know exactly what they are doing and saying. Learning in this format is fascinating because it creates a new way to perceive things around you, even as Slovenia is a small country there is close attention to every detail going on around you”

The educational structure in Slovenian institutions continues to push the boundaries of higher learning and many students have come to love this. Likewise, there is a more personal approach to teaching employed by teachers, students are taught in small units to ensure participation and discussion.

The facilities provided are also modern and updated ensuring that students get the best tools for their future careers. Students also have a very flexible timetable which allows them ample time for other pursuits or interests.

Life on campus is very exciting as well, universities have cafeterias where students can find brilliant dishes to choose from, classic meals and even healthy options come at a very cheap price. Students can also always go to various restaurants all around the city, interestingly food and drinks are very affordable for any student budget.

There is one interesting thing about being a student in Slovenia in general, and that is what they call ‘Student Boni’ and with this, you can purchase food for very reasonable student prices anywhere in the country.

Also, adjusting to your new life in Slovenia might be a challenge in the beginning because of the language or cultural barrier, but integrating into the country is not that difficult if you are willing to try or make the effort.

The good thing about this how extremely receptive and accommodating you end up finding the Slovenian people to be.

Accommodation options include dormitories within the school campus or private residences around the city which cost around €300 to €400 for the full apartment, nowadays students just share an apartment and split the costs on rent.

It is very common to see students hanging out in parks around many places in the country, this is a very relaxing thing to do and is very popular in student circles.

Also, university social life is very active as there are several events and activities throughout the year that bring students and teachers together. One of the many beautiful places where students go to study is coffee places that come in all types of pleasant aesthetics and peaceful ambiances where they can study quietly.

Sports and athletic activities are promoted on campus with many gyms and fields available in universities.
