The Zimbabwe government offers scholarships to students that perform exceptionally in their studies. The scholarships are not only limited to international students only but available also to broad-based students. 1 500 scholarships are awarded to highly excelling students each year. The student covers the student’s tuition fees as well as accommodation fees also not forgetting a monthly waiver to cater to the student’s basic needs.
HigherLife Foundation:
Higherlife Foundation is an organization founded in 1996, whose main purpose has been to support orphaned and vulnerable children in Africa through education and material support. Educational support has been provided through the Capernaum Scholarship for orphaned and vulnerable children and the Joshua Nkomo Scholarship for highly gifted children. Other than Education support, the firm also supports beneficiaries with Guardianship and Pastoral Care.

The university was established through an act of the Zimbabwe parliament in 2004 and opened its doors to 14 pioneer students in the faculty of Agricultural Sciences in August 2005. The expansion of university education in Zimbabwe is part of government policy adopted at the onset of independence.
In 1980 the government of Zimbabwe embarked on a major program to extend educational access to the hitherto underserved at both primary and secondary school levels. This exercise was primarily meant to address historical imbalances in the human resource base-born out of the discriminatory educational system prevalent before independence.
To contribute research-based knowledge and learning for the development of humanity by working closely with communities and attracting the best researchers and students from Zimbabwe and beyond.
The University aims to be a one-stop-shop for knowledge-based solutions for challenges faced by community groups and the private sector nationally and internationally.
Library at Lupane State University
Library is one of the important facilities frequently used by students and faculty to support the learning and teaching needs, therefore, LSU has a library which has numerous books which makes the life of the student very easy as resources are within their reach also there is the digital library resources such as eBooks, audio, video, and podcasts to improve student’s learning experience.
LSU also has a Digital Content Management System for libraries that allow the University to manage all office and academic documents, transcripts, media, etc. in electronic format with digital content storage for easy retrieval from anywhere, anytime across the website, and mobile devices.
Health at Lupane State University
The University has a 24/7 clinic which is always open to cater for students who may not be well, alongside the health facilities comes to a full-time counselor who is always available to assist and guide students with advice where needed any student is allowed to visit the counselor at any given point the doors are always open and one is guaranteed to receive the best treatment and care possible.
Transportation at Lupane State University
Worried about transport? If your answer is yes then you need not worry as LSU has a University bus that is readily available to transport students and lectures to town at a cost. The bus works on a weekly schedule as it has days on it which goes to town.
Regardless, Lupane is a very simple area where people take short walks or jog across the town because of how easy and accessible the city is to everything, school, shops are all less than 1km away from each other. İt can be noted that public transport, in general, is very cheap and prompt as there are buses used to get around. Taxis are also very active in the city and these slightly expensive than using the bus.

LSU offers standard accommodation to its learners in the form of hostels. These are furnished with a table, beds, mattresses, chairs, a two-plate electric cooker, a bookshelf, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. It is important to note that Lupane State University is a growing university therefore due to its location it does not have any off-campus accommodation, therefore, it has very limited on-campus accommodation which has to be secured early and on time.
Cleaning: Rooms are thoroughly cleaned every two weeks by the University genitors however students are expected to clean their rooms daily.
Bedding: Students are expected to supply their own bed linens, cooking utensils, cutlery, and dishes.
Laundry: There are laundry facilities that students can use for a small charge.
The University values sports and fitness therefore it strives to give students access to all its sports facilities, situated on campus these range from netball, soccer, volleyball, basketball among others.
The University has a Canteen that offers the best meals from traditional to the fast-food the LSU chefs and caterers provide the best services. Special Meals are made upon student requests therefore you need not worry as the University strives, by all means, to cater to the needs of every student with the University. Meals come at a price of USD2 – USD 3 per meal depending on what the student would have ordered.
Lupane is a rural, semi-arid area, A new university has been established under the name Lupane State University, which caters for the rest of Matabeleland North Province. Lupane town is the main center for the district and is the location of the Matabeleland North government head offices. It also houses the Provincial hospital (under construction).
As a developing town one can get to explore the town and get to witness the town grow with infrastructure being built from schools, entertainment centers, shopping malls to even more Universities. The town is a breath of fresh away from the crowded city life it has fewer occupants thereby making the crime rate close to none existent and a peaceful city.
