Catholic University Financial Aid

CUZ, in its bid to make opportunities accessible to youths in Africa and the world as a whole, offers funding to deserving students to assist with the payment of their University fees. The CUZ Financial Aid Committee is responsible for awarding such assistance.

Assistance is awarded on the basis of merit, need, and character and falls under Financial Aid and Scholarships.

Students must apply for scholarships through the Financial Aid office, different organizations, churches, and individuals set up funding opportunities. A grant of 25 million is made available to the University after every 4 years to help with assisting students during the course of their studies.

Presidential Scholarship

The Zimbabwe government offers scholarships to students that excel greatly in their academics these scholarships are not only limited to international students only but also to international students. About 1 500 scholarships are awarded to highly excelling students each year.

The student covers the student’s tuition fees as well as accommodation fees also not forgetting a monthly stipend to cater to the student’s basic needs.

Opened its doors in 1999, CUZ a non- profit Christian University with its campus setting in Harare Zimbabwe. This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): St. Augustine (Bulawayo), Diocesan Training Centre (Mutare), Hope Tariro School (Chinhoyi). CUZ officially accredited and/or recognized by the Higher Education Board of Zimbabwe. 

(CUZ) is has very small enrollment between one thousand to two thousand students per each semester. It is a coeducational higher education institution formally affiliated with the Christian- Catholic religion. This 21-year-old higher- education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations. The admission rate range is thirty to forty making this Zimbabwean higher education organization with a very selective institution.

International applications are welcome to apply for enrollment. The University plays an active role in preparing and conducting policies of national, regional and international significance. The Catholic University of Zimbabwe aims at providing holistic education in a Christian environment in its Teaching, Research, and Service programs to all irrespective of Religion, Nationality or any other designation.

Being the only Catholic University in the country, the university automatically has great potential to be the ‘GO TO’ university for the many graduates from Catholic secondary schools in the country and for many other non– Catholic high school graduates who wish to obtain a university education in a Christian setting.

Over the past 15 years, the CUZ has produced highly marketable graduates who have found jobs in many sectors of the Zimbabwean economy and also in other countries. The student residences are composed of semi-detached blocks, each allowing 2 students per room sharing. Each unit is furnished and has a solar geyser fitted, with plans underway to expand in order to be able to cater to one student in each room.

Wi-Fi is available at the residences, allowing students to study in the comfort of their rooms and not have to walk to remote areas in the dark to access internet services. Should there be any power issues, a generator is available as alternative power

Outside of the campus environments and only a few kilometers from the university’s location are a  lot of private housing options that suit the needs of individuals who need want something different from the student dormitories on campus.

About Harare

Harare officially Salisbury until 1982 is the capital and most populous city of Zimbabwe. Located in north-eastern Zimbabwe in the country's Mashonaland region, Harare is a metropolitan province, which also incorporates the municipalities of Chitungwiza and Epworth.

The Northern and North Eastern suburbs of Harare are home to the more affluent population of the city including the late former president  Robert Mugabe who lived in Borrowdale Brooke. These northern suburbs are often referred to as 'dales' because of the common suffix -dale found in some suburbs such as Avondale, Greendale, and Borrowdale. Harare is a peaceful town and one of the safest towns in Zimbabwe it houses the State House therefore due to this fact security is the number 1 priority in Harare.
