The University of Bamako- this is a public university located in the capital of Bamako and was established in 1996. It is also known as the University of Mali. It is officially recognized and accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and research.

University of social sciences and management- this is a university located in Bamako, formed in 2011.it is officially recognized and accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. Its academic structure is made up of the faculties of:

Mande Bukari university- is a private university that was founded in 1999 and is located in Bamako. It is officially recognized and accredited by the Ministry of Higher education and Research. It is a co-educational institution.
University of law and political science- the university was formed through a private-public partnership and was founded in 2011. It is located in the capital city of Bamako. It is made up of 3 faculties, namely, the faculty of Public law, the faculty of Private Law, and the faculty of Political and Administrative Sciences.
The university offers Bachelor’s degrees in Design, arts, humanities, business, politics, and social sciences. It is ranked third in Mali and 14029 in the world according to Edurank.
National school of engineers-Abderhamane Baba Toure- is a specialized university located near Bamako. It was established in 1939 and was named the Public Works School then was transformed into the national school of engineers.
The institution offers 6 bachelor programs in Applied Sciences and Professions, Archaeology, Chemistry, Computer science, Engineering, and Environmental Studies.
Bamako University of science and technology- is a public institution that was formed through the splitting of the University of Bamako in 2011. It is an institution of cultural, technological, and scientific nature. Its academic structure is made up of 4 faculties namely:
