Tunis has two cultural centers, as well as theaters used by international theater groups. The summer festival of Carthage held in July has won a certain reputation.
The city’s attractions include the Roman thermal baths in the time of Emperor Anthony (reigned in the 2nd century AD), the height of Sīdī-BūSaʿīd, the exoticism of its market (suqs), and the Al-Zaytūnah Mosque. (8th century), Tunisia’s oldest and most respected monument.
