University Application Requirements in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)

It should be noted that different universities have different requirements depending on the preferred program of study. There are still some general essentials that have been determined to be very important towards securing admission in the UAE.
General Application Requirements:
Bachelor requirements:
- High school credentials or diploma: the diploma is considered for admission on the grounds that the applicant must have successfully completed at least 12 years of both primary and secondary school education with at least credit grades in core areas like Science, Mathematics, English, Social sciences and in Arts.
- Proof of knowledge of the English language. Test of English from exams like IELTS (minimum score of 5.0), TOEFL (minimum score of PBT500/61 ibt), PTE (average score of 36)
- A valid passport or travel document (valid for at least 6 months after the session has begun)
- Passport photographs
- All academic documents and credentials must be authenticated and must clearly show the subjects and grades secured.
Post-graduate requirements:
- Original copy of academic transcripts from a recognized university or higher institution
- Degree or Diploma awarded by a recognized university or higher institution
- Proof of knowledge of the English language. Test of English from exams like IELTS (minimum score of 5.5), TOEFL (minimum score of PBT500/61 ibt), PTE (average score of 38)
- Passport photographs
- Curriculum Vitae or Resumé
- A valid passport or travel document (valid for at least 6 months after the session has begun)
- MBA applicants need to provide two reference letters from their employers indicating that they have worked for at least two years.
University Application Deadline in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)
Applications are considered for admission purposes all year round. Students can put in their application for Fall, Spring or in some few cases Summer semesters. However, because of the large number of applications that most universities in the UAE receive, it is advisable to start the process at least two months before the start of the new session.
