Current openings in Azerbaijan
International students, who have attended school in Taiwan for two semesters or a language program for one year, and who have an excellent academic record, can work in the country when one of the following applies:
- Events of a serious nature have affected their financial ability to support themselves or continue their education, and the student can provide evidence of such circumstances.
- An academic research institution at the student’s school requires a foreign student to provide assistance in its work.
- The student needs to take part in an off-campus internship related to his or her field of study.
If you wish to work while you study (either on campus or off campus), the following should be noted:
- You are required to apply for and obtain the work permit before starting work.
- The maximum work hours are 20 hours per week, except during summer and winter vacation.
- The status of international students in Taiwan should be in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education.
- According to "Regulations on the Permission and Administration of the Employment of Foreign Workers", applicants can apply for a student work permit since the first semester. However, a transcript of a one-year language course in Taiwan should be presented for language course learners.
- The maximum period validity of a student work permit is six months.
- For applications made in the first semester, the work permit is valid until March 31st of the following semester; for applications made in the second semester, the work permit is valid until September 30th of the same year.
- Workforce Development Agency has the right to revoke the permit if an applicant does not follow the regulations.
- According to the Employment Services Act, foreigners who work without a work permit will be fined from NT 30.000 to NT150. 000.
- Students should return the work permit (if still valid) to the Office of International Student Service if they withdraw or take leave from school.
