Like in most Universities, Students have the option of staying on campus. They can apply for on-campus residence at an added cost on fees paid which is far more affordable than private accommodation. They have access to personal or shared dormitories depending on the institution.
University on-campus dormitories are however very limited and so they are given on a first-come-first-served basis.
Students can also rent apartments like the Ezulwini apartments in Ezulwini, Lobamba. Ezulwini apartments are only about 2.3km away from Gables Shopping center. It offers garden views, free Wi-Fi and free private parking, a kitchen with a microwave and a fridge, and also comes with satellite television.
However, apartments are usually more costly than on-campus accommodation. Lidwala lodge also offers dorm rooms with bunk beds and communal bathrooms, a bed, sheets, and pillows. It is also less than 2km from the Gables shopping center. It has volunteer services where students can also take time to do charity work.
Rental Flats in Kwaluseni are also an option for students where they can rent shared rooms or pool together and rent the entire flat as a group. This makes it even more affordable, the more the number e lesser they have to pay for the rental.
Students should also note that even though it is more convenient to live within city centers, it is more costly than to live out of the CBD. There are quite several private dorms and studios around Swaziland for students.
Students can take up shared rooms to minimize the cost of rentals. The cost of renting an apartment in the city center is SZL 3361.39 and the cost of renting one outside the city center is SZL2734.81.
