Agriculture, forestry, and mining account for about 13% of GDP whereas manufacturing contributes 37 % and services make up 50 % of GDP.
Swaziland's main trade partner is South Africa which takes up 60% of its exports and supplies 90% of Swaziland's imports. Government revenue is mainly from customs duties from the Southern African Customs Union which accounts for 49% of revenue and the income tax accounts for 27%.
Manufacturing has grown little in the past few years. Sugar and soft drink concentrate are the largest foreign currency earners. Mining has declined in recent years. Most diamonds, coal, gold, and quarry stone mines are small scale. Swaziland is a middle-income country with more than 70% of the population relying on subsistence farming.
Swaziland's industries consist of the mining industry (coal, asbestos, gold, diamond, quarry), textiles industry, wood pulp, sugar, soft drink concentrates. Swaziland also relies on the export of commodities such as diamonds, soft drink concentrates, wood pulp, cotton yarn, citrus, and canned fruit.
