Pre-school education in Sudan covers two years, targeting children aged 4 to 6. The pre-primary programs are offered by the Government, private institutions, and also by the community. The standards for the delivery of pre-primary education are developed by the Federal Ministry of Education, with localities and private organizations executing the delivery process.

Sudan, just like most countries, is currently increasing focus on pre-primary education due to the immense benefits of Early Childhood Development and Education. Most basic schools in Sudan have a pre-school attached to them, though many private centers are offering early childhood education.

The early childhood curriculum in Sudan promotes learning and development in each of the following areas: social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive. Curriculum- the early childhood curriculum revolves around areas including Language (reading, writing, speaking, and listening), Mathematics, Music, Drama, Visual Arts, to mention but a few. This is done through fun and games.

Prospective students- parents of prospective students must prepare soft copies of the following documents to complete the application process. Eligibility cannot be assessed until all items are submitted.

  • Copies of academic records from each school attended for the past 2 years (in English)
  • Any standardized testing information from the current school.
  • Completed Medical Information and Health History form
  • Vaccination Records.
  • Copy of the data page of the student’s passport.
