Application Requirements in Romania
To attend a Romanian university, you should know that the application process is either online-via RocApply of course, or via post, and that you should contact us or the consulate website, to see if you qualify to join one of the programs.
You can also make sure you’re accepted to a university if you make sure to know what the language requirements are, and whether you have to prove skills in Romanian or English before enrolling in a degree program. Show how you performed as a student, and be sure to know what your Grade Point Average (GPA) was during your studies. Still, the main documents you must procure, in order to apply, depending on your degree, are:
- Certified copy of your high school diploma;
- Baccalaureate diploma or equivalent (leaving diploma, for ex.) - for undergraduate studies;
- Certified copy of the graduation certificate - for postgraduate (Master or PhD);
- Certified copy of academic records from high school - for undergraduates;
- University records - for postgraduate studies (Master, PhD, Doctorate);
- Certified copy of your birth certificate;
- Medical records: vaccines and a certificate from the general practitioner in the country of origin, attesting that you do not suffer from any chronic or neuropsychological illnesses, contagious diseases, or other illnesses not compatible with your future profession;
- Copy of your passport;
- 4 photos (passport type);
- Application form.
You need to Improve your English through an English-language prep course if you intend attending a degree program in Romania, you will sometimes need to prove that your language skills are good enough to participate in the classes and understand the lectures; some schools will require Romania, while others will require strong English skills. These courses will also prepare you for any of the English-language tests that universities require
English-language tests
If you wish to study in English in Romania, you have to prove your proficiency with an official English exam. The tests usually presented by students are:
- IELTS
- TOEFL
- C1 Advanced
Keep in mind that one of these diplomas can save you from a preparatory year, so you don’t have to wait to start your university degree.
However, international students can be exempted from presenting a language test, if the language is official in your country and may have done your previous studies in the same language.
Note: there may be an option to transfer credits or incoming students, however, this is specific to the situation being applied to and if they recognize the accreditation board(s) under which your previous university was enlisted to.
Once all documents have been submitted, the application vetting process is completed and successful students are notified usually within a period of not more than 2-3 weeks and a formal acceptance letter is issued after a down payment towards tuition. Thereafter students are able to register and enlist to a study of choice and choose courses for their desired start semester.
Even if you currently do not have enough documents just get started with the process and one of RocApply team will guide you until you finish the process and also wait for you to secure or obtain the missing documents. As s prospective student you may simply notify RocApply team when you will be able to secure your qualifications or certificates and we will remind you.
Once you upload copies of the application documents on to the RocApply platform please remember to take the originals with you to the university after receiving acceptance.
After documents submission, the student’s records are thoroughly evaluated and I need be as in the case of graduate programs interviews and exams may be arranged to further examine an individual’s suitability or the proposed course of study.
Once all that is settled and the university is satisfied with the students’ ability and records a letter of admission is awarded and thereafter applicants are eligible to select and register or coming semesters and the respective university.
