There are student dormitories provided by the university on campus. The dormitories are divided into the male and female sections. The dormitories are highly affordable and are well equipped. Undergraduate students in a shared room pay 270 USD while the postgraduate students pay 550 USD. This fee includes all the utility bills as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as transportation to and from the faculties.
Each dormitory has comfortable rooms furnished with luxury furniture items, TV halls, covered parking spaces, a fitness center, a computer lab with internet access, and many others. There are standby medical units in the dormitories in cases of emergency and the rooms are topped with the highest security.
Some students choose to reside in accommodations outside the university campus where there are many private houses and apartments according to student budgets. There are also several dormitories and private out-of-school lofts and pads that have different costs. The expense of leasing off-campus apartments changes from area to area in proximity to the city square and they have different conditions for rent. Commonly, the cost of renting an apartment a month usually starts from 300 USD.
Renting an apartment out of campus usually means that utilities such as electricity, water, heating, cable tv, and internet all come separate from the rent, and students would have to pay the utility bill. However, the cost of living in Doha is relatively low compared to other parts of the gulf region, hence, most students make this university their first option.
The university is a strong sports force in Qatar and also in other parts of the Gulf region. The sports department is an activity-packed center, providing students with everything they would need in a sports center for physical and mental health.
Due to the importance accrued to sports by the institutions, highly achieving sports students are offered a discount on tuition or even a full annual scholarship.
Some of the sports facilities include the men’s aquatic center which is made up of three pools: The Olympic pool, learning pool, and diving pool. The aquatic center also houses the gym and the recreational center.
The physical health center is in charge of the sports section and some of the sporting activities offered include football, volleyball, cheerleading, swimming, Jitsu, kickboxing, tennis, golf, sailing, etc. Sporting events are frequently organized on campus with winners duly rewarded.
The university also has an Olympic standard stadium for organizing programs and events.
There are restaurants, cafes, and canteens in every faculty, and designated areas in the university serving meals to students and staff at very affordable rates. The dormitory canteen serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner to students without any extra pay.
Doha as a capital city is composed of multiple chain stores, fine dining restaurants, and other fast-food areas. Similarly, students living off-campus can find food items that they are familiar with and make their food.
The University provides shuttle services for the commute from the dorms to the university, house to the university, also within the university. For students going for excursions and other field trips, the university provides shuttle services for them also.
Transportation around the town to the university is very cheap and very comfortable. Common modes of transport in Doha are public buses, trains, and taxis.
Doha is the capital and most populous city in Qatar. Doha contributes the largest to the country’s economy both in industry and influence. Also, Doha has the best universities in Qatar. Compared to other parts of Qatar, Doha enjoys a much higher standard of living, a greater number of factories, greater historical centers, and more tourist attractions. The city center is a serene getaway with one of the largest parks where residents come to relax and unwind at the end of the day.
Aside from its historic center, Doha is a significant center of research and development, and also has a growing collection of skyscrapers used as residences and offices. The city is filled with ex-pats from different countries, hence, there are very tolerant and extremely open-minded.
Doha is a multi-cultural, peaceful, and vibrant city that is welcoming to everyone around the globe. Compared to other Gulf countries, Qatar is one of the cheapest to live in and also one of the safest.
