  • 250USD per month for a single person;
  • 500USD per month for a couple;
  • 800USD per month for a family with two children will do.

Restaurants

When dining out, one can eat on a budget at the inexpensive restaurants and afford a decent meal at the price of just $1.6USD. The low price of food has an impact on the restaurant prices and even eating in high-end restaurants would not cost much as in other countries.

Markets

The food here is really inexpensive and fish is an important part of the diet. All the groceries are so cheap, compared to the other countries in the world, and this is due to the low monthly income of its people. Food-stuff is estimated to be three times cheaper than in the USA.

Transportation

No matter which means of transport you decide to use here, you’ll not pay a lot. Either riding a taxi or taking a bus is relatively cheap, as the monthly pass is only $10USD. The price of gasoline is also low, so if you are fond of driving, you can make use of your vehicle.

Healthcare

Cost is average for general heath care, doctor visits, hospital stays, non-prescription medicine, and medical insurance. Average healthcare cost for a private practice Doctor visit for an uninsured patient is USD$30, and a private hospital stay per day including nursing care, medications, diagnostic tests, food, and related costs is USD$1,500.

Utilities

Energy and water consumption, combined with the heating, cooling, and garbage, cost of about $30, and this is really affordable. The price of Internet access in Papua New Guinea depends on its speed, but on average it is $16 per month which is also reasonable.
