It should be noted that different universities have different requirements depending on the preferred program of study. There are still some general essentials that have been determined to be very important towards securing admission in Norway.

Language Proficiency:

Most programs in Norway are taught in English, and as such applicants are expected to have ample knowledge of the use of the language. This is usually documented via language assessment tests or exams.

Some of these exams include TOEFL, IELTS, C1 Advanced, Pearson PTE. Differents assessments and different scores are required based on the institution and the department.

Courses that are taught in the Norwegian language also require the applicant to have written proof or certificate of their proficiency in the language.

Undergraduate/ Bachelor requirements:

Secondary School Education Certificate – similar to the Norwegian high school diploma. This is a foundation essential that is regulated by the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance (NOKUT).

Many schools have additional requirements, therefore students who come under RocApply will be provided with this information, hand-in-hand with the application procedure.

Graduate / Post Graduate Requirements

  • Degree certificate from Bachelor program
  • Masters certificate for Ph.D. applicants

The agency has developed a system that has tailor-made specific documentation for the individual’s country of state. For example, South African applicants only need a National Senior Certificate while Indian applicants must provide Test of English scores and two extra certifications.
