Students applying for any Bowen University degree program need to apply jointly. You will be able to choose the programs that interest you.

Candidates will need the following;

All participants must take the current Unified Advanced Maturity Examination (UTME) and choose Bowen as their first choice institution.

All candidates must score at least five (5) points and must not participate in more than two meetings.

For medicine and surgery (MBBS), nursing science, and physical therapy courses, five (5) credits (including Math’s and English) must be earned in a single course.

Tuition and Scholarships at Bowen University

Bowen University was founded in 2001 and is a private non-profit institution of higher education located in the middle of Orson (Osun) city (population 250,000-499,999) urban environment.

Bowen University (BUI) is a small co-ed Nigerian higher education institution officially recognized by the National University Council of Nigeria, officially affiliated with the Christian Baptist Church.

The courses and programs offered by Bowen University (BUI) can lead to officially recognized higher education degrees, such as bachelors, master's, and doctorate degrees in various fields of study.

The approved fees for Bowen University’s academic programs are paid based on the college/department, department, and program selected by each student candidate. The university publishes an admission schedule every two years for new students to enroll.

The general fee range for an academic year at BUI is between ₦425,000 to ₦2,999,500 depending on the program. Please note that this fee covers all academic costs, campus accommodation, medical care, bench fees, and other university fees.

Bowen University also offers a host of postgraduate programs (Masters, PGD, and Ph.D.) with a scheduled fee of ₦120,000 per semester of study. Postgraduate students can pay up to ₦360,000 for the entire duration of their programs.

All payments and made in the local currency (Naira) and foreign students are expected to comply. In all courses, foreign students residing in Nigeria will pay 10% of current tuition fees, and foreign students residing outside Nigeria will pay 15% of current tuition fees.

Scholarships

Presently, Bowen University offers selective scholarships to returning students only. The scholarship procedure, amount, and coverage are disclosed to the awarded student at the discretion of the university management.

However, first-year students can split their payments into two semesters, 70% is paid within the first two weeks of enrollment and the student can register. The remaining 30% can be paid within the first two weeks of the following semester.  All other students from the second to the fifth year are required to pay the full cost of accommodation and amenities.

RESEARCH AT BOWEN UNIVERSITY

Bowen University Teaching Hospital (BUTH)

BUTH was established on 18 March 1907 as a health center and was then converted into a Training Hospital in 2009. Today, this facility has over 400-bed capacity with more than 800 personnel and students in a peaceful environment. This multidisciplinary facility boasts of 50,000 outpatients and 10,000 inpatients. Programs taught here include home and nursing family medicine programs with other fully accredited education programs. There are also so top-notch service standards with high-quality assurance all around. Lastly, the emergency care is very prompt and effective at an affordable price with an expert staff.

STUDENT LIFE AT BOWEN UNIVERSITY

BUI also provides students with a variety of academic and non-academic facilities and services, such as libraries, sports facilities, study abroad and exchange programs, and administrative services.

As a private Christian university, Bowen students are taught to uphold very high morality in their academic and social life on campus. The university frowns upon any immoral or misdemeanor conducts both on and off-campus.

Library

The 160-seat library, conference tables, metal chairs, school desks, reading spaces, a bookstore, and amenities were inherited from Iwo Baptist College and named W. Commemorative

Library in honor of the Rev. Fr. W.H. Simons, African-American Baptist Teacher, and Missionary. His collection of books, magazines, and other publications bequeathed to Baptist College, Iwo was the largest collection of various materials, mainly in humanities and education.

At BUI, living on campus is compulsory for all students. The university provides private dormitories and student dormitories, which are convenient and safe for both men and women.

Dormitories are divided into male dormitories and female dormitories, and supervised rules and guidelines are followed to ensure safety and maintain dignity. From the first year to the last year, all dormitories are allocated to students at different levels.

All dormitories have comfortable beds, wardrobes, bathrooms, and common or leisure areas. The cost of accommodation is included the total fees that students are required to pay at the beginning of the academic year.

All dormitories are maintained and maintained by employees hired by the university and have enough security to monitor every activity.

About Iwo

Osun State, Western Nigeria. Osun State was founded in 1991 by Oyo State, the third eastern state. It borders Kwara State in the northeast, Ekiti and Ondo in the east, Ogun in the south, and Oyo in the west and northwest.

The Yoruba Hills cross the northern part of Osun State. The state is covered by tropical rainforest, and Oshun is the most important river. Osun State mainly lives in Yoruba people.

(It was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005). Obafemi Awolowo University (founded in 1961) is located in Ile-Ife. Oshogbo is connected to Ibadan in Oyo State by road and rail. The population of Osun state stands at 3,423,535 residents and locals.

The state has abundant human and material resources. Historical evidence shows that the Yoruba tradition is one of the most important traditions in Nigeria. The Osun’s are mainly Yoruba.

The state is composed of Osun, Ifes, Ijesas, and Igbominas. Their language is Yoruba, but all cities have different accents and accents.
