Niger Visa Requirements for international students

There are three types of visas required in Niger, these are transit visa, diplomatic visa, tourist visa, and business visa. The visa must be used within 3 months of issuance. Visa fees do not include postage fees.

The applicant must ensure that they provide a self-addressed and stamped envelope. Visa processing takes about 3 days. It is of utmost importance to make sure the forms are properly completed to avoid any unnecessary delays.

Niger student visa

To be eligible for or to apply for a Nigerien student Visa the following are a prerequisite.

  • A valid passport 

  • 3 properly filled out application forms with signature

  • 3 passport size photographs that are recent.

  • International vaccination certificates: for yellow fever and cholera if applicants are from prone areas from where the disease has been reported.

  • 2 copies of a travel itinerary or a round trip ticket or 2 copies of a letter from the travel agent certifying that a round trip ticket has been purchased.

  • 2 copies of a letter from the bank showing that the traveler has at least $500 in their account/ proof of ability to self-support.

  • Proof of acceptance into university in Niger.

  • Personal Contact details, and next of kin details.

Citizens can obtain a visa upon arrival except for those from Kosovo, Macao, and Yemen. You can also apply for a visa online.

The following countries are exempt from requiring a visa to travel to Niger, these are Benin, Liberia, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Chad, cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Hong Kong, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, and Tunisia
