Secondary education (enseignement secondaire) in Niger is divided into 2 cycles, Lower secondary lasting for 4 years, and secondary for 3 years. It follows the French model of education, and The language of instruction in Niger is French. In the lower general secondary cycle, students learn a variety of subjects and in the upper cycle, the student can specialize in a few selected subjects.

Upon completion of upper secondary school, the students will be awarded the De Bachelier de l'ensignement du second degree (BEPC) and the Bachelier Technicien (technical degree) for those in the technical stream.

Sahel Academy

This is a Christian-based school in Niamey, Niger which provides quality and affordable Christian education for students from Kindergarten school to the 12th grade. Admission is usually reserved or targeted at the children of Christian missionaries here but 30% of its enrollment is opened to any child interested in securing a Christian education. The school aims to produce students with the intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual capacity to engage in any field of study from a Christian perspective.
