There are several shops where travelers can shop in Niger. Niger is mostly dominated by markets that sell a diverse range of goods. Some of the markets include:

Transport –getting around in Niger provides a bit of a challenge but there are various transport options available to beat the challenges and get you where you need to go.

Rental Cars- Hiring a car in Niger will save a lot of time in getting to where you want to go easily. You don’t have to follow set timetables or wait for transport to fill up. You also get a chance to experience the country by yourself.

There are various car hire options available including SIXT, Rent a Car Niger, Avis, and Europcar, to name but a few. 

  • Buses- there are state-run coaches available for longer distances like the SNTV Coach. These have been introduced on major routes in Niger.
  • Minivans- Nigerians sometimes use private minivans to get around in Niger. These are small and take time to fill up or arrive to ferry passengers.
  • Taxis- these can be found in most major cities. They charge a fixed price for shorter distances and more to travel longer distances.
  • Planes- for longer distances and if you want to reach your destination faster, there are a few planes that ply the local routes that you can use, though this can be a bit more expensive
  • Water taxis-these are also called pirogue and can be chattered along the Niger River, it can be quite refreshing.
