Admission requirements at Inholland;

Dutch Applicants can apply if they have obtained a Havo, VWO, or MBO-4 diploma, but certain courses may impose certain additional requirements. You will find the exact requirements on the program page.

If your International Baccalaureate meets the same standards as a Dutch school-leaving diploma, you are eligible to apply. The student management department evaluates all certificates and diplomas before enrollment.

We can only evaluate your diploma after you submit your application through our online application system and upload a copy of the diploma and final transcript. We accept documents in English, German, French, or Spanish. If your diploma is written in another language, you need to attach a translation of the certificate (English, French, German or Spanish).

In many cases, you should be able to provide recent evidence that your oral and written English skills are consistent with your application process.

Accepted certificates include;

IELTS – overall score of 6.0

TOEFL – iBt 80 (minimum)

Cambridge (CAE, CPE, FCE) – Grade C minimum (160 – 172)

The English proficiency certificate must not be more than two years since the date received, and if you have completed your education in English in the past two years, there are exceptions.

Tuition and Scholarships at Inholland University of Applied Sciences

Please note that, unlike statutory tuition fees, if you opt out, you are no longer eligible for a refund.

Scholarships at Inholland

If you are applying to study in the Netherlands for the first time in 2021-2022, you may be eligible for reduced statutory fees. If you meet all the conditions set by the Dutch government, you will pay €542 in 2021-2022 instead of €1,084. This amount includes a one-time discount.

To receive the 50% tuition discount, you must be a citizen of the following countries:

  • EU countries
  • Norway
  • Switzerland
  • Iceland
  • Liechtenstein or
  • Suriname.

If you are a family member of an EU citizen living in the Netherlands, or if you have a residence permit to enable you to obtain study funds, you may also be eligible.

The Knowledge Grant

Knowledge grants are offered for a maximum of five years at the time of your study if you meet the criteria. The general goal is to provide financial support to promising international undergraduate students. Students who have achieved a minimum score of 60 ECTS are eligible for the knowledge grant. Because of the corona crisis, we said that the effects of the corona crisis need to be relaxed.

Holland Scholarship

The Dutch scholarship is for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA). This scholarship is for outstanding international students outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who wish to study for a bachelor's or master's degree in the Netherlands. The EEA is made up of the European Union (EU) countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. The Dutch scholarship costs €5,000 and are only awarded once. This fee will be paid at the end of the first academic year. Scholarships for international students in the Netherlands are provided by the Ministry of Education and the Netherlands.

Inholland offers 10 Dutch scholarships in the 2021-2022 academic year.

Accommodation Inholland University of Applied Sciences

On Campus Accomodation at Inholland University of Applied Sciences

There are no student dormitories in Dutch universities. Inholland reserves many rooms for freshmen and exchange students and accommodation providers. Since Inholland is not a campus university, we do not provide on-campus accommodation.

Off Campus Accomodation at Inholland University of Applied Sciences

We know that finding a suitable accommodation environment for students is very important. Choosing a place of residence that suits your needs and budget can be difficult. It is your responsibility to find accommodation before you arrive. Inholland recommends that all students start at least four months before arrival, check our offers and recommendations on our website, and start looking for accommodation.

Certain areas of Inholland offer a limited number of rooms for international students and exchange students. These rooms are located off-campus and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that there is not enough space to accommodate all upcoming international and exchange students.

Most first-year students will have to find independent accommodation. Therefore, do not limit your options, and please also look for accommodation in a professional market. Every location in Inholland provides a list of suggestions on its web page


Food at Inholland University of Applied Sciences

As a student city, there are numerous cafes, student restaurants, restaurant chains, and other food vendors serving students. There are several restaurants and canteens on campus providing healthy meals to students and staff at very affordable rates.

As it is a culture in the Netherlands, people tend to socialize over food, therefore, the restaurants are highly conducive for comfort. The student dormitories equally have food centers where students can buy food at lower prices. Therefore, students living in student dormitories can eat from the cafes and restaurants in these buildings and can also cook their food.

 


Transportation at Inholland University of Applied Sciences

In the Netherlands, it is evident that you can live a comfortable life without driving or owning a car. The public transportation network and bicycles are spread all over the country. Although train and bus fares are not cheap, they are not as expensive as buying and managing cars.

The Dutch have more bicycles per head than any other country in the world. The rich, the poor, the young, and the old all ride bikes. Most students like to ride bikes for school and their day-to-day activities.

A new bike costs between € 180 and € 450, but a second-hand bike is part of that price. Ask a classmate to recommend a shop, or ask at the train station (‘Fitsenstall’), or check out the ads in the shop market for a well-used bike at a cheaper price.

There are many global organizations in the Netherlands, including Philips, SAIL, Heineken, KPMG, and Unilever. About 26% of the Netherlands is below sea level, and its lowest point is 22 feet (6.7 meters) below sea level. Dutch is the national language, but most people also speak English. If you are learning Dutch, you will find that the language is the same in sound and spelling.
