Nightlife in the Netherlands

The Netherlands is world-famous for its entertainment life. Every year millions of people troop into the country to catch a glimpse of the ultimate experience when it comes to nightlife and partying. Some of the best night time entertainment in the world can be found in big cities like Amsterdam.

People party until the early hours and the weekends are always packed with lots of fun activities. The renowned squares in major cities in the country house some of the best bars and pubs attracting a mix of both the young and older demographics. Dance parties or night clubs also bring out Netherland’s most social crowd.

Entertainment spots in the country are not only fun centers they are also internationally renowned and praised for their distinct ambiance and excellent music.

In Amsterdam, Leidseplein square is home to many cinemas for moviegoers; disco clubs for folks who enjoy 80’s music; theatres for lovers of art and literature and lastly casinos for the daring few.

The square is also very easy to locate and these centers are only a few blocks apart. Another very popular square in Amsterdam is Rembrandt square with everything from pubs, museums and even Michelin-star restaurants present here.

Moving away from the ever-vibrant Amsterdam, cities like Rotterdam, Utrecht and The Hague all have an undulating nightlife captures the heart of locals and visitors alike.

Additionally, asides from the great music and dance culture that the country is beloved for, there is a much quieter yet relaxing factor in just a simple outdoor dining experience. There are many mouth-watering cuisines famously enjoyed over a bottle of wine at a fancy restaurant.

Student life in the Netherlands is already as interesting as we have already established. The many activities and events organized by student bodies and even faculty have students actively participating.

A student in the Netherlands regardless of where they are situated, have several things to look forward to at the end of the day and on the weekends.

Sports lovers are not left out either, The Netherlands is one unique country in Europe when it comes to their national sports. They are the only country in western Europe where hockey is favored over football (soccer).

Dutch people extremely enjoy the international game and are some of the world’s biggest fans of the sport. One well-loved hockey club is the HC Bloemendaal and has been named one of the top clubs in the European Hockey League. Locals enjoy their sport in the evenings over beer or cocktails, where they cheer for their preferred teams.
